My professional experience includes a variety of roles in both marketing and media sectors, most notably brand manager, art director and project coordinator for the University of Indianapolis Office of University Marketing & Communications and the City of Orlando’s Office of Communications and Neighborhood Relations, one of the departments that reports directly to the Office of the Mayor. I am charged daily with the management of print, video and web projects that require a deadline-oriented approach and consistency with visual branding. Given such experience, I hold knowledge in the areas of art/illustration direction, print design, multimedia production, copywriting and online editing.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Creative Services Manager,
University of Indianapolis,
Indianapolis, IN
May 2016 – current
Responsible for providing creative guidance and services for the effective, high quality creative designs across the multimedia and channel mix including ensuring quality and standards align with University of Indianapolis’ brand strategy. Responsibilities include managing creative design from concept to completion, translating University’s marketing objectives into creative strategies and overseeing a creative team in the production of design and promotions to enhance the institution’s visual image and strategic initiatives.

  • Designs and prepares high-quality original layouts, illustrations, images and designs for a variety of multimedia platforms including web, advertising, social media, video, promotions, posters, brochures, postcards, digital cards and publications. Works to incorporate the University of Indianapolis’ visual identity and brand to maintain a unified,high quality and consistent look across mediums and channels.
  • Collaborates across the University, serving an in-house agency resource, with internal clients to determine project requirements and priorities ensuring timely production of high-quality promotional materials. Coordinates with the business operations and procurement resources to prepare digital files and invoices appropriately for vendors to meet production deadlines within the project budget.
  • Works collaboratively with the project teams to ensure that high-quality marketing materials are produced promptly for campus clients.

    Included managing a team of designers while acting as brand manager, art director and project coordinator for the City of Orlando’s Office of Communications & Neighborhood Relations.

    Daily responsibilities included developing overarching vision for the City’s brand and marketing initiatives; designing marketing collateral for the City’s initiatives, programs and events while coordinating with City departments, including the Office of the Mayor, on marketing initiatives and brand development. Also assists with digital branding, including website conception and design.

    • Manages and prioritizes an average of 150 design jobs a month while managing 6-person staff
    • Leads creative brainstorming, oversees projects from concept creation to final design
    • Consistently stays on time and on budget for all projects
    • Implemented a new project management software for the four creative teams in the Office of Communication and Neighborhood Relations
    • Implemented new processes for interactive media, most notably epub/mobi format, interactive PDFs and interactive maps

    Included graphic design and art direction in both news and project format for Florida’s largest newspaper.

    Daily responsibilities included producing design presentations against strict deadlines for newspaper print editions while adhering to style and branding, in addition to news editorial meetings, independent news judgment and collaborating with other employees
