Graphics Supervisor/Graphic Designer: Jen Hiatt
Client: Green Works Orlando

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer hosted a Climate and Energy Summit bringing together more than 200 community, business, nonprofit and public sector leaders to discuss sustainability best practices and solutions to support economic growth and clean, reliable and renewable energy in Orlando and Central Florida. The Summit was part of Mayor Dyer’s Green Works Orlando initiative, a comprehensive plan to ensure Orlando is one of the most environmentally-friendly, economically and socially vibrant communities in the nation.

Goals: To promote the Climate and Energy Summit to community and business leaders.

Initially, the client had a vision of graphics containing $$$ symbols, but after several versions, we were able to lead the visuals towards a cleaner, more simplistic look. Utilizing Orlando’s skyline as a backdrop and featuring the Centennial fountain, the design features strong and clean typography that clearly showcases the event details. The color palette reflects the subject matter – going green.

The completed design was used online on the City of Orlando’s website, the event partner’s sites as well as all of the City’s and event partners social media platforms. Posters and flyers were also printed and distributed strategically throughout the City.
